Started off life as a larger drawing that I cropped. So this is more of a detail than it is a full drawing, but a character I like enough to keep.

Some drawings take years to finish. Even if they are not terribly remarkable. I find that each drawing has its own energy, but as I put it into existence, the energy is spent. If the drawing is not finished before the energy is spent, it lingers in this drawing purgatory... until the energy returns. I still haven't truly finished this, but this is the end regardless.

Qin Shi Huang the infamous first emporer of China was buried with thousands of terra cotta soldiers in a temple he devoted to himself. Well-known for demanding the Great Wall of China be created by stiching together several other walls, the unification of China, amongst many other incredible things, he was always seeking the elixer of life. Some say he may have found it, and I think that might be true. Even China has not opened his tomb, but when they do, this is what I think it will look like as his ghostly form shoots our amidst a newly-born army to take control once more.

A drawing I did while on vacation in Florida. It took me quite some time, since the black is so heavy. I took the name from the Radiohead song 'House of Cards', which I love. It doesn't have much to do with the drawing, and often times the names don't. For me, this drawing is heavily inspired by Eastern European influences. Mainly from the dark and cold themes the Quay Brothers potray in some of their work. For example: The Street Of Crocodiles by Bruno Shulz. I felt a deep connection to my roots while drawing this. My grandfather on my dad's side is from Ukraine, and I hope to visit Kiev one day. By the way, the writing on the sign doesn't mean anything. Its just abstract art.
